God Bless America Day 2010
Woodbine invites you to come and enjoy our annual God Bless America Day on July 4, 2010.
Our doors will open at 9 a.m. for the following:
- Viewing the Hall of Honor, which will include the following displays:
- Picture Displays of Veterans
- The Combat Airmen Joshua’s Troops Memorabilia
- A table honoring Disabled American Veterans
- Meeting and talking with our special guests:
Our special worship service will then begin at 10:30 a.m. The service will include the following:
- A salute to American military personnel, both past and present
- Brigadier General Floyd C. Adams, Jr. will share a message on character and godly living.
- Two of Woodbine's own, SSG Gabe Oakley and LCPC Buddie Adkins will share testimonies.
- Special music will be provided by the following:
- The Woodbine Choir
- Sarah Pruitt, Soloist
- Tammy Oakley, Soloist
- Charles Stovall, Soloist
- Thelma Sexton & Mollie Williams, Duet
- Charlie Two Shoes (will play a feature on the erhoo - an ancient Chinese instrument)
The National Guard Honor Guard, supplied by the 732nd Forward Support Company and commanded by Captain Edward H. Wharton, will demonstrate a Presentation of Colors, 21-Gun Salute, Taps, and placing of a commemorative wreath under the leadership of SFC Thomas J. Powell.
Following the service, the members of Woodbine invite all in attendance to an "All Americal Lunch", complete with hot dogs, homemade desserts, and apple pies.
